Well i said id give an update on this esc & its not good. After less then 1 month i can confirm all what Ronen is saying in the post below, I wont go into details as im getting exactally the same as Ronen has posted re continuous beeps but no arming comfimation at times. Sometimes it works the other times it dosnt, Same cutting out at times with boat dead in water, Sometimes it comes back on after a while most times it dosnt. Their is clearly a problem/ defect with this esc. What the situation on warranty being less than 1 month old. I suspect not very good as ive found with most modelling products if something goes wrong its down to you & not a faulty item. Any other product you buy in the high street so to speek you take or send it back & they replace if its under 1 year old & not working any more. These are cheap but be warned cheap is not always the best option.

My experience of this ESC has not been a good one, I have now been through 4 of these....let me explain...
Setup 1 - 2600kv inrunner on small bolt micro hydro
2 x 2S 1600mah 25-50C nano tech cells in Series with harness.
Stock 27mm 1.4 pitch prop
Result - After a few runs the boat began to misbehave. The motor was stuttering whilst the esc was emmiting straight bleeps (not melodic as in programming mode). If left for a few minutes the
boat would run half speed just enough for recovery and then start beleeping / stuttering again. The prop would do half turns and not run properly at all. If left for longer then it would power up ok again for 5 minutes before the same happens again.
Removed shrink wrap for inspection - burnt power fets.
Bought another thinking that maybe water had gotten in and the same happened again. No water in hull.
Setup 2 - 4800kv black mantis inrunner on small bolt micro hydro
2200mah 40C Turnigy lipo S2
Stock 27mm prop
ESC number 4
Same as above really. This time I sealed the ESC with elecronics grade non acetyl silicone to ensure waterproofness.
ESC number 3 had the same problem as the others before the boat stalled completely in the water and sank due to water leaking past the hatch tape as it was stuck for so long.
I had programmed the ESCs correctly for the cell count and motor each time.
All solder joints were good.
This is my experience of these ESC's
Initially they worked well but after a few runs on something that a 60amp ESC should handle easily they seemed to fail.
To prove the drive train I did the following.
Ran with 60amp ESC till prop stuttering / esc beeping kicked in. Checked temps - all good. Replaced 60amp esc with stock 40 amp esc and boat ran fine for full duration of run time thus proving there was no bind on the drive and not overloading the esc.

Have only been out once so time will tell but first impressions are good + easy to programe & only £13.29 for a 60amp water cooled esc. The one it replaced was a very good make costing 3.5 times more but this giant cod one is doing the job equally as well. Will post again after more use. Also usual great service from Giant Cod. Took apart to conformal coat as I always do with my controllers to find it has actually been done already in case any body need to know so should be water resistant as standard but when I tested for leaks before reassembly found that there was a leak from one of the pipes so had to reseal them, Also the fets are far from flat but I think this is the case on ones at many times the price but soon sorted them out with careful sanding.

This is the second one I have purchased. The first was a 120 amp which is performing very well,
easyish to set up, just find somewhere quiet to programme to listen to the bleeps. Excellent service from giant cod, ordered saturday received tuesday. These speed controllers are good value for money, only negative is they are rather bulky so check size suitability for those smaller models

its a budget esc, at a budget price. Set up is simple, and once done does not need to be done everytime you hook up your battery like some speed controllers. Throttle is pretty sharp, dont expect a nice slow easy take off, its not that good, and mine did not have the ferrite ring like in the picture, however, giant cod service was superb, great communication, and arrived 2 days after order. You get what you pay for, I got what I expected, its for a small jetboat so slow throttle wasnt important, a bouns is its watercooled

This is the second unit I have purchased. This one replaces a more expensive ESC in my MTB, Performance is excellant and cooling very effective. Programming can be a little lengthy for us of advancing years but well worth the effort.
Extremely good value for money - highly recommended.

This is my first review on my first Giantcod purchase!
I’m new to brushless RC and also new to boats so please forgive any errors!
I bought this brushless 60A watercooled ESC to replace a 30A watercooled unit in a Ripmax Joysway Offshore Warrior which mysteriously fried itself last week.
I checked out the boat, the motor and prop turned (by hand) freely and the watercooling system was clear. Knowing that it’s difficult to prove anything when it comes to smoking electronics I couldn’t be bothered to wait around while the model shop / Ripmax decided whether they were going to replace the faulty unit!
I should say at this point that watercooled ESCs appear to be a bit of a rarity in the UK, unless you want to pay silly money! If I hadn’t found this on Giantcod I was considering installing a standard unit and lashing up my own watercooling matrix.
First impressions are that it’s physically larger than the old unit (probably because it’s a higher rating). I’m not too concerned about the minor increase in weight over standard as I don’t race the boat, it’s purely a bit of fun. Having tried this ESC in the boat it’s a very snug fit, but it’s increased weight over the original has in fact helped with the boats trim.
A couple of minor niggles:
The motor and battery wires could have been a little longer, my boat is only around 500mm long but I’m going to have to extend the wires to make it fit to the existing equipment and I don’t like having extra joins if they can be avoided!
Considering this is a marine ESC it could really do with being waterproof.
The circuit boards and water cooling slab are encased in shrink tubing which is open at both ends to allow the wiring to come out, I’ll be filling these openings with silicon, (non acetyl type) in an attempt to waterproof the unit or at least make it a water resistant as possible. I ran the boat today on choppy water and at one point the boat nose-dived and was completely submerged for around 3 seconds before it popped up to the surface! Fortunately I’d put in some floatation otherwise I’d have lost it for sure! On removing the canopy I found a couple of egg cup fulls of water inside but because I’d sealed the ESC it was fine.
The unit looks well made with extra long spigots which should keep the water cooling hoses securely in place.
The biggest positive however is the price!
Ripmax quoted me £40 + P&P to replace the original 30A ESC, this unit rated at 60A was only £15.37 delivered!
In conclusion, although you might have to do a little modifying here and there - if you’re looking for a no frills, forwards only, watercooled ESC with a reasonable rating then it would seem that this range from GiantCod offers very good value for money.
I’ll certainly be back for more boating spares.

Very fast delivery and great ESC for the price. The water cooling is very effective, works well in my powerboat with Turnigy 28-45 innrunner and Turnigy 5000mah LiPo.
