Just finished my Mini quad with these, and they are still great. I have added a blob of hot glue to stop the cables falling off this time. Using them with 1100KV blue wonder motors and 6X3 GWS 3 blade props on a 3S 2200 LiPo (more suitable size one on order). They were easy to program manually (Did them all at once through Arduino) and are perfectly suited to this application :) Not the cheapest 8A here, but one of the best and well worth it.

Have one of these on my Mini Pitts 19" Park Flyer, with Blue Wonder 1300Kv motor, 7x4 Prop, and Unitech 3S1P 11.1V 450mAH 10C LiPo - works a treat so far. For ease of use and setting up, I would recommend the Black Mantis Program Card - makes life so much easier - especially for me as I also have the Black Mantis 12A and 40A ESCs in other models.

So, I bought one of these a while back for my Fox conversion. It is being used with a F1818 3800KV motor, and does so brilliantly. The motor is rated at 9.6A and this ESC, but it will easily give the motor 10A when needed. Full throttle (10A) works for about 25 secs, before the ESC reduces power to the motor, to about 40%. This is probably as there is very little airflow past it, but this doesn;t matter as the plane is so powerful anyway. The reason I have rated it at 4* instead of 5, is because over the month I have had it, both the battery cables have come off, I have resoldered, but have had to remove the protective heatshrink. Other than that, great buy and I am getting 4 more for my Quadrocopter :)

Got 4 of them running in a quadrocopter and they do a pretty good job. PCB component placing looks quite similar to the Hobbywing 12A so I wonder if they're really only 8A. Programming ist easy and the possibility to reverse the rotation is a nice feature if you build a multicopter. Only disappointment: The battery and motor wires are extremely short (only 5cm) so I had to replace them all.

I have been using Black Mantis speed controllers for a while. They are simply brilliant. Very smooth with a 'locked in' feel to them. They will take a lot more than the rated amp with ease. You just cannot go wrong with them, and at this sort of price - it's a 'no brainer'!
