Great little motor!
Bought them for my hexacopter. They spin 5x3x3 GWS style props with no problems, but will try with 6" props. Motors are great for the price, but it is good to change bearings after 50 or more flights.
I use 10A Hobbywing ESC-s for them and all works perfect with multicopter controller.

Very good performance! For under a fiver, nothing but top marks.
Apart from one of the poles having a single turn of wire going thru the core/magnet airgap (had to remove the outer cage and ease the loop out and glue it to the rest of the winding). Also, the grub screw mounting works best with one screw in with a bit of treadlock. Will be my fave motor for a while.

Nice little motor and excellent value for the price. Used with a 10A ESC ( programmes easilly with the pentium programme card ) and 2 cell 450mA Lipo from Gaintcod in a 240g, 90cm wingspan glider. Tested with a 6"x3" folding prop with watt meter and draws 5A at 40W. I am sure that although motor is marked for 5" to 6" motor will take 7" prop without overloading!
Usual speedy next day delivery from Gaintcod.

A nice little motor, very well made mechanically but less so electrically. Three of the pole windings have visibly less turns than the other poles which probably accounts for the jerky start up and poor low speed running. High speed running is fine. On a bench test with a GWS 7035 prop and 3s lipo I got 290g thrust at 6A max. With GWS 7060 prop 275g thrust at 9,2A max.
It would be nice if they made the mounting flange larger than the bell so that you could at least get to the mounting screws with a screwdriver. Also, a threaded shaft would be nice so that a reasonable prop mount could be used instead of some mickey mouse clamp-on adapter that is really a poor way of doing things.

Super motor, what else is there to say. I now have 4 of these and will probably get more. Models include 32" SE5a and a 32" Bly Baby. This new pair are either going into a Fokker D7 and another Blue Baby (for the kids, so I say;)) or else maybe a Twins or PuddleTwin, cant decide yet. Maybe just need to get a few more in... Go buy some, they are fantastic mid-model power plants.

Received this motor very promptly to replace one I thought was the same only to find my original was the 2800 KV one. I searched it via Google and therefore didnt see that 2 versions exist for the same CF 2805 type number. Not the best arrangement really, I will see how it flies when the wind drops! It runs fine.

Have one of these fitted to a 32" SE5a with an 8*5E TGS on 2S and Hobbywing 10A controller. Running around 65 watts and is loverly :) Quiet and smooth with a great finish too. Does need the ESC to be programmed for mid advance or is very stuttery on start up.

New to model electric motors and put this in a glider. It had been running ok but on occasions it would not start or growled then ran up to speed and then cut off.
Had changed the ESC on assumption faulty but did not remedy.
On changing ESC again I noted that the motor windings are not terminated in the motor but are brought right out to where you solder on, and then covered with heat shrink. Of the 6 winding wires at each terminal I note that a couple were broken which would result in the problems I had been experiencing.
Have re-soldered which included scraping varnish off to make a good joint. All appears ok now.
I was impressed with the motor as it fairly pulled the Laishing Thunderbird about with no problems. Hopefully good weather tomorrow and will see what happens.

I have 15 of these! They are ideal for lightweight [150-300gms] models, esp. if you enjoy experimenting, as I do.Some advice:-always use a well balanced prop! The bearings are not robust[.Make your own balancer with 6 canopy magnets and a spare 3mm shaft suspended between.]I epoxy the back plate on. 4stars because the last batch from the factory all need the timing changed on esc to start smoothly.T hey take up to a 10/6DDprop! on the LIGHTEST models 190 gms .My favourite props for them are 8/6 ,9/7 RD GWS.I have not found much difference between these and the higher kv version.

This 1600kV version of the 2805 motor is an excellent addition to the range. Using a 2S battery it pulls 8.5A 65W on a 9x4.5 prop and 10A 80W using a 10x4.5 prop. Ideal for shockies. Excellent power to weight ratio.

I've been using the cf2822 for quite a while on a lot of my scratch built planes... and they work a treat. recently mad a scratch built fan-trainer and needed more rpm, as the 2822 was well under propped on a 6*6 (it flew, but the revs topped out at half throttle) so this motor was picked as a replacement. I installed it recenty, and it runs beautifully right up to full throttle, smooth starts every time, and very little vibration. Emax seem to make very good motors at a good price.
