1 X Corona RP6D1 Synthesized Dual Conversion Receiver 6Ch 35Mhz I purchased this item and returned it as faulty? Thank you for replacing this item Had a wonderful afternoon last Friday (3rd Feb) worked faultlessly.I tried to make it not work ,ie: transmitter aerial not extended at a distance of 100metres. Pointing aerial of transmitter directly at the model, placed on the ground ,next to a Fiat Doblo, with an electric fence about ten metres from me. I'm sure the fence had no bearing on the situation. But not one glitch, hesitation, or problem ensued. Thank you again for all your attention and feel free to use this feedback as you think beneficial to yourself. Regards John Gibson I am the same person who wrote the review starting I feel the shell of this product could be be a little more robust. I think that is the only way I could improve it if I were marketing this

I think the soft shell could be a little more robust, and was nervous at one stage when having to put servo connections into ports(be sure to get polarity right) the whole thing felt like an egg, hope it doesn't break. At £12.34 including government share, if it does the job, then that is what is required. I understand N.A.S.A always bought the lowest tender. Just one point, please be mindful of bad mouthing companies. Yes by all means say if a thing is wrong, by the same token be as ready to compliment.

I have a couple of these and I will order more. They work perfectly are lightweight, compact and reasonably priced.

Usual fast GC delivery. Great little receiver for the price, easy to set up except the fail-safe can be a little fiddly. Will definitely order another one.

Brilliant receiver at fantastically low price. I have bought several. The three "Rs" : Resilient, no glitching in my electric models (that's dual conversion for you ! ) Reliable, I have been using them for a couple of years. Range, I have never lost contact. If these had been available ten years ago there would have been no need for 2.4 GHz.

Ordered with some scepticism - but delivered next day and has been faultless in a V-Tail Slope Soarer using ailerons, elevator and rudder. Straightforward lock-on to Futaba FF9. Will be ordering another for next model - big advantage will be in not having to keep changing crystals. Good value.

I bought one of these to replace an old GWS 4 channel receiver that used micro crystals and had serious glitching problems. I did have a bit of trouble getting the RP6D1 to lock onto my Futaba transmitter but after trying another crystal it locked on rock solid. The servos seem to operate more smoothly with this receiver than with the GWS and there was absolutely no glitching at all. A first class receiver for very little money.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Delivery, packaging & price all good (thanks GC!) But here I'm talking about the performance - WOW! I couldn't get more than 20 meters ground range on a 500 watt brushless model before. Throttle up & down by itself, control surfaces glitching etc with Tx aerial down. Tried all the usual things, ferrite rings, lead lengths, lead routing, aerial location, wound my own chokes for the esc lead, tried 2 Rx at the same time! One on the ESC & BEC, one on a separate Rx battery - still u/s! I was so close to throwing in the towel & buying some 2.4Ghz radio!!! Then I found this little Rx & I jumped in! WOW – aerial down range now up to 51 meters!!!! (more than double the old Rx) FANTSATIC!!! If you are at your wits end with glitching on 35Mhz on high power brushless & wondering how you are going to afford to make the jump to 2.4Ghz - then don't! Give one of these a try first!

Very good R.X. Solved all range and glitching problems on a carbon fibre braced park flyer.

Well I'm over the moon with this receiver. I was using a GWS dual conversion before I bought this and I was getting regular glitchs, which meant i never flew with complete confidence. The Corona was cheap, which is great, but you don't really know what you are getting with someting this price. However, do not let that put you off as this is a really reliable piece of kit; the range is great, timing is great, the resolution seems to be higher than the GWS and I had no glitches whatsoever so this is something you can really put your confidence in. Furthermore the unit is tiny, weighs nothing and being able to sync the frequency is a God send. Well done GC for being able to do this for under £15 because you are getting alot of kit for your money. Couple of notes: The antenna is thin and so needs care and this receiver does not like V-tail mixing with an on-board unit, but no issue if your Tx is capable of mixing. Overall I would happily buy severall more of these as they are almost good enough to tempt me away from 2.4GHz, it's only my Tx that is holding me back!! Do it guys, you won't regret it. C

Super bit of kit - works a dream, and seems very reliable. Couldn't check maximum range because I was beginning to lose sight of the model, and couldn't go any further! And it was a 2.7 mtr wingspan! Whatever the range might be, it is further than my needs!

Just bought this rx for a combat wing I am building as it is very light and small sized. 2nd Corona rx I have bought and after setting the other one up eventually this one set up on my 2nd attempt. brilliant little rx for the money and the other corona rx I have has excellent range when tested with my brushless Easystar.

brilliant little rx 2nd i have had used edf jet no problem. delivery second to none.

by Michael Date Added: Wednesday 30 June, 2010
Best 35MHZ reciever i have ever bought solves all glitching problems even in edf just wish someone could come up with a solution to the verry long aerial

received my pair of rp6d1 today had them 10 minutes and there both tuned into my favourite frequency this is a great micro but I would'nt entrust it in my full house composite glider but in run of the mill slopers and flying wings there fine just compared this rx with my usual rxs hitec and the rp6d1 does run the servo speeds slower ? but like I said on basic 4 channel or 2 ch ships this rx is fine.

A synthesized, dual conversion receiver for less than £16. It can't be any good. Against my better judgment I bought one. When it arrived I was surprised by how small and light it was. It won't work though. The receiver was plugged into my new scratch built model and the scan instructions were followed for the receiver to lock onto the transmitter frequency. Simple and quick a few flashes from the LED and the receiver was now sorted and working with my old Futaba transmitter. This is a great little receiver and I am amazed at the low price.

nice receiver! Tested using Futaba 6 Tx Ch 88-no problems at all

by Michael Date Added: Friday 12 March, 2010
This Corona rx is simply great and glitch free. I have it in my Irvine Tutor 40 and also in my Seagull Pioneer electric, simply the best and the range is such that I mistakingly went out of sight, and successfully broought the model back. Now about to order my fourth one. Mike K

Just flight tested this rx in small Laser 3D model, plenty of range & no glitching problems. With two previous expensive receivers I could not eliminate glitching on the elevator servo. Using with Futaba tx, found the bonding with the tx not easy but after a couple of goes it bonded on channel 71 o.k. Good compact receiver for the price.

fitted one to a mako foam delta, performed flawlessly, good range, light and no interference or glitching (used with futaba ff6). will be buying more.

ive just bought my second RP6D1 it wont lock on any frequency I wont buy any more spent 5 hours trying to get it to work got an hitec synth rx took 2 minutes xlnt

by Tim Date Added: Tuesday 27 October, 2009
Bought one of these a while back - was slow finishing the plane - test flown last week. Plane was a handful (too much control throw !) but the receiver worked perfectly. I will be buying more where they are stock, why pay 3 times the price for a receiver ?

This is my second RP6D1, and yet again......I'm more than pleased with the price and performance !. The latest one has been fitted in a Weasel Evo, and on testing it on the 23/10/09......no problems were encountered, unlike the RP4S1 I had been using. I must say though........that I'm still miffed as to why GiantCod still says these Rx's can't be used below Ch60, and above Ch80 ??. I've tried all ten Corona's that I own (RP4S1, RP6D1 and RP8D1).........and all of them work on all 35MHz frequencies !. I fly on Ch86..........and have had no problems whatsoever.

by Peter Date Added: Wednesday 21 October, 2009
Great receivers these - I have used them on several models, gliders, electric. Apart from the handy synth. features of easy channel swapping - there is a less advertised optional feature of fail safe. This sets the servo outputs to your settings if there is a signal failure. Could be very handy !!! Can't recommend these highly enough especially at this price.

Dont use with castle creations controller,as controller starts at 25% speed when armed. All other controllers work fine.Very good receiver.

by Geoffrey Date Added: Thursday 06 August, 2009
I've just bought the RP6D1 synth Rx I'm really pleased with its performance "bench test" I was disappointed the fact it doesn't lock on too ch 88 ? good news after changing the TX shift from N to P shift it now locks onto channel 88! hope this helps

OK well... I was getting some Glitching with a Futaba RX on my Tigershark EDF so i was on the hunt for a new RX when i spoke to GiantCod. I did not want to spend a fortune on a top of the range RX when they recomended the Corona RX's i put this in and it locked on in a few seconds to my channel 80. at the field i done a range test with the arial donw FF9 TX and i got about 70-80 feet and i got alot of glitching and i thought this was going to be the same as my Futaba RX but we then tested it by extending the arial about 3 inchs and it was going about 150 feet and we stopped, I took of and stayed close as i was a bit nevous but after a bit i noticed it was Solid and far better than my Futaba RX i then flew as high as i could way more than i would have normally and it was 1000% times better than my futaba RX i was very very impressed. Im not a fan of "cheap" equipment but this unit really is Spot on ! If you get one range test it with a couple of inches of TX arial. Also i cannot Fault Giant Cod for there help and advice. I cannot recomend this product high enough i can just fly my EDF Shark without any worries and has made it soo much more enjoyable to fly Perfect RX and the bonus of no crystals is very handy.

Ordered parts at 4pm Friday, arrived through letterbox 10am Saturday. Fantastic!

by Keith Date Added: Tuesday 12 May, 2009
Ordered two, received the well packaged order by return, and they work a treat. Great value. Been using 2.4 Mhz since getting into model flying, but with the 2.4 receivers costing £64 a time, (preferring one for each plane, and already have 5 models!!), these are terrific value.

by Steve Date Added: Monday 30 March, 2009
I own four of the 8ch RP8D1's, and so decided to buy one of these.......purely to keep in stock. This RP6D1 was bench tested, and was found to operate ok on Ch55........and Ch90 !! I fly on Ch86..........and found no problem at all, with the Rx locking to the signal from my JR PCM9xII Tx
