Brilliant! Was a bit worried about the stories of them blowing up, but I made sure I connected the ESC correctly and it was fine. Easy to set up and it connected with my Futaba Tx with no problem.

I've had two of these, one didn't work from new, it simply did nothing when powered. The second one works, it locks to my TX (though not quite how the instructions suggest it should) but the stability appears to be poor with varying temperatures, flying in cold weather it loses resolution, response speed then ultimately control of some then all channels (maybe needs re-binding once cooled down at the field). On the upside it's small, fairly light, fairly cheap and doesn't need hard to source crystals. I wouldn't trust it with something nice or heavy though.

Ideal for my indoor lightweight models, very good receiver,I have two(2) of these receivers and they bind well with my Futaba T7CP and JrX2720 TXs. Delivery service from GCod fantastically fast.

Hmm.....not to sure about this one. I decided to test it in a Phase 3 swoop which, for those of you who don't know, is a little electric delta. I have been flying this for over a year with a very old Ikarus receiver (for those of you who remember these). Never had a problem with the Ikarus whatsoever. However had two flights with the Corona. On the first flight with the plane at about 10 feet up and around 20m from me I just lost all control and she death spiralled to the ground. Fortunately no damage to the plane. So then I changed battery and tried again this time I had an inexplicable twitch whilst coming out of a roll but put that down to perhaps a cross wind. However coming into land shut off throttle but the motor carried on running for a few seconds. I was the only person at the flying field so ruled out interference and also flew my Robbe Moskito heli on the same frequency and same transmitter with no issue. Think I will be putting the Ikarus receiver back in and perhaps relegate this one to a glider.

This is the second one of these I have bought. My first is in a PSS Hawk. This one will go in a 1/10 scale PSS Spitfire I am completing. Just done a quick range check up the street appears to work fine. May be a few weeks before I fly it in anger in the Spitfire.
Forgot to mention Super fast delivery.

Great little RX at a super price. Tried it out for range after trouble free setup and gave up after I had walked over 500 yards with it still working glitch free. I figured there was no point going any further as the RX is destined for a 24" model and if I flew that at over 500 yards I wouldn't be able to see it let alone control it. TX is a Futaba Skysport 6 on ch73

A great little receiver. Easy to set up and lightweight. Ideal for small models. This is my second one and I intend buying more. Excellent value for money.

Ordered midday, delivered midday next day. Installed it in my PSS Spitfire, followed setup instructions, no problem binding to channel 76 transmitter. Did a quick range check by walking up the street with my transmitter while my wife waved a feather duster out of the window when the elevators moved. Well pleased. Will be a few days before I test it on the slope due to lack of wind.

An amazing piece of kit at a price (and size) that is not that much more than the standard RS410II when you take into account the cost of a crystal.
It did exactly what it said in the instructions and had no trouble locking on to my Futaba Skysport on channel 66. The ground range is certainly as good as the crystal unit.

Just had two more delivered and successfully tested them indoors (atrocious weather stopped play). I have used these Rx's in previous models and they have been beyond reproach. But as stated elsewhere, when using them with my Optic 6, if you switch the Tx off the servos stay in last commanded position even the ESC so the throttle also remains in the last used position and does not shut down. As the range is very good hopefully I will not suffer the consequences of this oversight.

Whilst these are great for the money,i find one major problem with them.Using it with my Optic 6 i find if you switch Tx off to check for lost signal, the servos stay in last position even with an esc in situ on throttle, the throttle remains in the position and does not shut down. This can be a fatal disaster.

Despite GiantCod saying ...
"Due to software problems these receivers CANNOT lock onto frequencies below channel 60. "
... mine locked onto channel 56 ! and 65.
The only problems i've noticed are that the servos move to full deflection when the TX is turned off (after a random period of time).
Also servos lacked resolution when using the elevon mix on the TX.
My TX is a Hitec Flash 4. Maybe this is some form of aliasing ?.

These are excellent receivers..........with more than enough range for most models.
However...........the only gripe I have with them, is occasional glitching.
I really wish Corona would do something about it.......as it spoils an otherwise excellent product.

I'm just about to purchase my fourth one of these !
I currently have one each fitted in my Speedo Mk.II, Weasel Evo and Alula gliders.
ALL OPERATE ON CH-86..........WITHOUT A SINGLE PROBLEM !!.
The range is far more than enough, and the compactness is ideal for small models.
I'm more than happy with the one's I've bought, they are very reliable..........and as long as they stay available, I'll carry on buying them !

Nasty habit of sending servos beyond full throw when you switch on. It's especially a problem with small servos like the "3.7g" ones, which is exactly what this is likely to be used with. Very poor resolution too (servos get moved in big steps), though admittedly that's less of a problem in indoor models.
Corona promised to improve them but have shown no interest in fixing the problems. It's a shame because these could have been a great receiver.
Buy a Sunnup instead and just take the plastic case off if you want to make it lighter.

Really good small reciever. Easy to lock on and very ree of glitching.
Have used mine indoors on a carbon butterfly with no problems at all.
Even when flying with 2 other 35MHz planes and dozens of 2.4GHz (Miniums etc) there have been no glitches at all and my previous receiver (a 4 chan GWS unit) used to glitch like crazy..
For the price these receivers cannot be beaten. Highly recommended!

I bought this to replace a rather aging receiver in a park fly model. The RP4S1 fitted straight in - 4 channel model so no Y lead required - and locked on to channel 63 in my Futaba FF6 transmitter straight away with no issues at all. Range appears to be fine and I have had no glitching problems even running quite old servos and motor.
This is an excellent little receiver and is an absolute bargain - well done Corona and Giant Cod. I will be buying another and shall take a look at the other Corona synthesized receivers.

considering it's size it's a great little rx, many others have tried and failed badly.
the range on this unit is pretty impressive, less so if you have it on top of a motor, but thats to be expected.
one slight issue is resolution, in most park flying things this isn't noticed, but on things like wings with a fairly sensitive elevator with low movements compared to the aileron throws you may notice a double centering making the plane feel slightly uneasy and inconsistent.

Have one of these, works great with Futaba FF9, but found out that with some radios it cant fix the frequency and have some glicthes problems. So be careful about this, just need to make a full test range before fligth.
With mine FF9 it locks at first and flight with zero glitchs.

I have two of these and another two are in the post to me.
So far the ones in use have been OK, no issues.
I'm using them mostly Indoors or at close range Outdoors so can't comment on range, but the link to my Futaba 6EX's has been fine. I usually run the upper end of the frequency band. Setting up has been a peach....dead easy!!!
One downside is the extreme length of the Aerial resulting in on any, not just very small models, the need to coil some up or make several passes down the Fus to avoid so much dangling that your own prop could catch it (let alone others when indoors).
When HITEC can make the lightweight HS5MS Rx with a lovely short aerial which even at it's small size can be loomed up (they provide the loom and instructions), it seems strange that Corona errs so far the other way on the length.....for this reason alone they do no score maximum.

I fly on cheannel 88 and have two of these recievers - I do get some gliching at one spot in the field but many flyers seem to get glitching at that spot electrics and glow models. I think they are good value and they have outperformed rxs that cost 3 times a much as far as glitching is concerned. I had heard about the channel problem but so far they have worked well for me.

Ian must be unlucky, these are fine with my Hitec Focus-4, I just received another one and it locked to my Hitec immediately on channel 76, to my Futaba 6exa on 80 and Sanwa Conquest-6 on channel 64.
I wonder if Ians transmitter is outside the synth range of the Corona which is between 60 and 80? Both of mine are regularly switched around channels and trannies and every time they lock up perfectly.
Our club has channel allocations of 81 upwards for helis and 80 down for fixed wing. Therefore this rx wouldnt suit a heli pilot at our club as it wont lock above channel 80, as per its spec.
Also Ian, did you try to lock your rx at the field, ie within range of other transmitters?
The orientation of the connections is unusual, all negatives to the centre, but they are clearly labelled. One user complained of a duff channel output but in fact he had plugged his servo in the wrong way round!
I've seen people saying that you need to press the synth button really hard - makes me crynge!
By simply clearing the heatshrink away from the button it depresses readily with a positive click and as it is recessed there is no danger of it getting accidentally pressed in flight.
The reason I've gone on a bit about this Rx is that it is simply suberb and I'd hate to see people put off by reviews of less than 5 stars which could possibly be down to unfamiliarity or just very bad luck in getting a duff one.
Cheers,
Phil G.

My advise is do not purchase this receiver if you want it to work with a Hitec Focus 3 channel transmitter it will not connect to it. __
Mine locked up to my Hitec Focus 4 no problem, works a treat. Channel 76. Was your channel within spec Ian? ( _59 _81)

My advise is do not purchase this receiver if you want it to work with a Hitec Focus 3 channel
transmitter it will not connect to it.at least my own would not.I did get a refund along with a warning that its the customers responsibilty to check for compatability.?which I do not accept. Its up to you.
Take no notice of the rating it is probably a very good receiver if it works for you but it is new technology and along with it comes other problems.

I have purchased 3 of these, they are simply amazing! You just turn on the TX,connect the battery, press the button with a biro,it winks at you for a while, then locks on to your TX.These are so small and lightweight, that you immediately doubt their range capability.I did a range test against my horribly expensive full size branded RX.The Corona's range (on the ground)was an embarrasing 50% greater.I USED to buy a receiver and then pay another £5 for a crystal, never again.
