I have high expectations of this motor and for the first two flights, I wasn't disappointed. However after the second flight I noticed a clicking and a rough point while rotating the motor by hand. Either it is a rough bearing, or a magnet moving as it can be felt as the rotation passes over the offending point. The motor is set up on a 60amp Hobby wing controller, 4 cell 3000ma lipo on a 12x6 prop, maxing out at 500watt. Well within the capabilities of this motor. Have contacted HQ for their view, hope they look favorably on an exchange.

In addition to the previous review... The motor appears to be getting more efficient as it beds in. Climb to 200m with the same setup as stipulated before, is a more spritely 24 seconds now, so I might have to find a smaller prop! Very pleased with the purchase although the model has only had about 20 flights from this motor and ESC.

I am using one of these in a 1.6kg duration glider with a 100" wingspan and 12" root chord, with a 12 x 6 Graupner folding prop (actual diameter on the plane is 314mm). It gives a fairly sedate climb as the model is so draggy (the wing root section is 27mm thick). However, I am using the model for height limiter competition and there is an advantage in getting a "slow" climb of 200m in 25-30 seconds and this set up provides that. I am using a new Loong Max Tipple 2300mAh 20C 3S1P and a 60A black mantis ESC. Current is about 35A when testing static, so it will be less than that in the air. Voltage is dropping to about 10.3V at worst in the 30 seconds on test. If I get any problems I will post again, the model has only had 8 flights on this set up at the time of writing this.

A very powerful motor that can pull a 4.5lb model vertical with ease on a 4s 3000mAH lipo. The down side after 6 flights the motor sounded sick, and on inspection found three magnets loose and one broken. There is good throughput of air to the motor, and exit area for the air too. it was flying on an APC 13x6 prop doing pattern type manouvres so plenty of lower throttle use. I will get another as it fits my plane nicely and can deliver the goods.
