Hi, i am an aerospace engineering student, and we have been set a challenge to build an aircraft model. We carried out a constraints analysis, and we found out that the model will weigh about 2kg and we need a motor that will produce about 280 watts of power during climb. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which motor will be the most suitable for this project. thanks

I've joined in the RCM&E Model Flyer Forum 2013 Mass Build, which is based on the Nigel Hawes Tucano 45". I've decided to use the XYH435-42 1250kv motor and Hobbywing Pentium 60A ESC. I ordered these on line with 2xGens Ace 3000 25C Lipos, propellers and other odds and ends on 26 December and they've arrived today, all exactly as ordered. Thank you Giant Shark, I can get on with the project now.

still going on. appears to be soldered to the pcb without strain relief. I think i'll do something about this myself before installation (without tampering with the product to any great extent. thats it for now.

bit more regarding design (mechanical) heat shrink case a bit flimsy, bit nurvious at pressing and holding the body whilst connecting battery and servos. Ther aerial is very thin and does not appear to be secured against strain/flexing very well.

lets start again corona rp6d1. bit of a problem in getting it into the locking mode. found that if you hold the button to enter into set up for longer than 2 secs is better but still its down to timing. locked onto five frequiencies ok including 81 and 83.

hi there, this is my first post on here and im looking for knowledge on home made planes and wing loadings. i have built a 30" balsa plane withe the view of doing some 3d with any luck. the plane has 255sq in of wing area and weight is 20.45 oz which gives me a wing loading of11.55 ozsqft, can anyone tell me if this weight and wing area will be capable of flying 3d? it is fitted with a overlander thumper t2836/08 with a 10x5 prop pulling270 watts. any help would be very welcome

Hi can u help. I make and fly vintage high wing planes and have just finished my new plane. This planes is my third electric. The WT is 2 1/2 pounds with a wingspan of 60 inches. I have purchased (these were recomended) a motor and speed controller the motor is an EMAX GT2812/10 I have tried a 12x4 and an10x8 prop but if will not get off the ground it seems that if it had 18000 in stead of10600 it would get off the ground. WHAT DO I NEED?

Just bought 2 x 2.4Ghz 8ch Corona Receiver (DSSS) V2 following a long wait including screw-ups by PayPal and have sucessfully converted my JR PCM9 to 2.4 GHz operation at reasonable cost. Just hope that the 8channel receivers will remain in stock so I can replace all 35 and 40 MHz receivers in my boats and planes.
