I um'd and err'd between buying this and the 5000mAh 50C for around £20 more. Decided that the 25C write ups seemed good and that my Trex 600 flew OK with a pair of 6s 3000mAh packs in parallel so the extra capacity should be OK and plumped for this one.
Was a surprise when it arrived as there had been no spec's on it at the time of ordering it was much thinner and longer than I'd expected (I make it 45mm x 44mm by 191mm with a weight including Deans connector and velcro of 860 grams). In fact it fits perfectly in a Trex 600 and, when shortly after a bought a Trex 550 it fits perfectly in that as well. With the end of the battery right against the front servo cases the C of G is spot on and it is nowhere near the canopy. I'm not sure how people flying smaller cells in the 550 get it to balance? The new DFC low profile flybarless head from Align and 553mm blades made me too scared of tailstrikes to fly a low headspeed so I'm currently getting around 7 mins at 2600RPM on the 550. down to 3.7V/cell So far I've had about 25 flights with the first and have purchased a second. A TP 5000 65C purchased a month before the first of these and flown around the same amount is already showing some degradation in performance compared to the Gen Ace which is interesting!
