Please note Hobbywing have change the name of their escs. First it was Pentium but intel complained so they changed it to Fentium but this was too similar to Pentium, so it has now changed to Funfly. See the Hobbywing website for details.

You will know this esc. It goes by many names - The old version Emax, Turnigy, OEM RC, Unitech.... Don't be fooled - this is EXACTLY the same esc. We used to sell them as emax brand until emax changed suppiler and esc. The new emax isn't quite as good so we went straight to the source. The HobbyWing pentium. This best from the east - by a long way...

Very fast delivery and good value ESC its a replacement for a 3 year old one which was dispatched by a burnt out motor, so now running about 23 A max burst, more motor cooling and 2sq cm heat sink nylon tied to the top of the ESC ( part of heat shrink removed to match and heat conductive paste added as a precaution)

I have been using this ESC in my Multiplex Minimag for 4 months and it has served me well, no problems at all. MM is fitted with a 2200Kv inrunner and 2200mah LiPo, spinning APC 6x4E it draws around 18 amps fully charged. The ESC has never felt hot after 15-20 mins flight per battery. I bought another one of these beauties for my E-Flite Mini Pulse XT which I fitted with BL2220/10 outrunner also from GC as I have been so pleased with the performance of the original. Swinging APC 10x7e it draws below 20 amps so I don't anticipate any problems.

So far brilliant, installed in my Blade 400 after the E-Flite one just stopped working. This is cheaper, easy to program and seems to work a treat in my heli. Lets just see how long it lasts ! The E-Flite one was 25amp and this is 30amp so hopefully it should cope better.

Wow. In the last 3 days I have got through 3 Hobbywing ESC's (2x 30A guards 1x straight 30A). This one survived long enough to program, set throttle and then spool up and down once on the turntable. Next time I plugged the lipo in fshhht... there goes the magic white smoke. £45 up in smoke altogether!! I know these seem to get good reviews and are well though of, but my advice is: pony up the cash for a more expensive make if you possibly can... you get just what you pay for.

Bought this to partner E Max BL2215/20 motor, good match very smooth and easy to programme, not flown yet but good results on the test rig on the bench, much better than cheaper alternatives. Keep up the good work Rob.

Very good ESC! I recommend it to every kind of user.

Good ESC, combinated with this motor KD A22L-20L 25A KV1000 brishless motor and 9x6 folding prop. Only one observation: it became too warm for my liking.

by Simon Date Added: Thursday 29 April, 2010
mine arrived today usual GC prompt delivery. These are the best IMHO as i've not yet found a motor that won't run with them straight out of the package on default settings. Setup very simple with the program card or via the transmitter. I've had mixed results with the more basic versions so always use these now.

by James Date Added: Thursday 29 April, 2010
Great ESC ran straight out of the box and with throttle settings entered ran the motors up to roughly their maximum at 42,000 rpm. Bought two of them for a twin and they seem very well matched. Thank you.

by leslie Date Added: Tuesday 29 December, 2009
up to your high standards ,ran motor strait out of package on default settings great..

Has performed without a glitch for many months. Can thoroughly recommend HobbyWing ESCs. Excellent value for money.

by John Date Added: Sunday 28 June, 2009
Been running one of these for a few weeks on a 2217 860kv and excellent Loong Max 3s lipo. Can't fault it, good response & no heating up (let alone overheating). Note I am running it well below it's maxiumum rating, the moral is get an esc that's more than man enough for the job - this stops the magic white smoke from escaping! Note if you buy the programming card, it's much quicker to programe the esc rather then read the instructions - it's proof against this idiot anyway. These comments are the same for the 60a version I also have, ie: reasonably idiot proof and does the job.

Used in conjunction with the Keda Brushless Inrunner 2700kv, works really well. Good value for money *****

by Terence Date Added: Tuesday 16 June, 2009
I agree. The HobbyWing 30amp ESC is great, AND great value. Also bought programming card which is well worth the money. Easy to use, too. Delivery was NEXT DAY. Magic!

I have more than twenty speed controllers. I have bought a couple of expensive ones in the past. I do not know of a better speed contoller than this one. I have a lot of brushless motors and this works with all of them. This is a really superb speed controller. I would give it ten stars if I could.

by BILL Date Added: Saturday 01 December, 2007
superb controller at a great price. Please keep it up.
