I have tested this motor for the purpose of a high speed spindle for a hobby mill. I believe that I can use this motor but a significant disadvantage is that the idle current is around 2.5 Amps at 28 Volts which is much more that the stated value. The idle current is still reasonable for this size of motor but it can not be used without an efficient cooling jacket. With some effort I have been able to cool it with air since water was not an option for my purpose but using a water cooling jacket is probably much easier.
