I bought this to replace the oem unit that came with my Dragon V24 MDF boat,
it is running a Graupner " Roxy " BL 3657 motor from four 5000 mah Lipo cells
in series.
The first major difference is heat, the motor, wires and batteries are
significantly hotter now but the boat seems faster so I'm guessing that this
esc is allowing more current to flow than the Dragon one did, also I am
getting the full 5 amps out of the batteries now where as before the performance
dropped off, I would recharge but found only 3.5 amps was used so esentialy I'm
getting longer run times with this esc and can rely on full power right up to
the point when the cutoff throttles it back to 50%.
Programming is easy only four things to set and if you change transmitters then
holding full throttle momentarily on power up will set the throttle range for you.
The low voltage cut off seems to work perfectly, I've set mine to 3.4v per cell
and as I've said when it reaches that point it throttles back to 50% to let you
know with enough power left to bring the boat in.
I should point out that I am new to boats, having flown 6 ch helicopters for years,
so cant really compare this to any others.
IMHO this is a good esc ( it'll probably burn now I've said that ) and I will
most likely buy another to replace the piece of shite that came with my Hobby King
Hornet tunnel hull boat.
