Mine came with black heat-shrink, rather than blue.
easy to program using the instructions on the forum, have used in both NiMh and lipo modes.
Nice to have the headroom 30A.
can't beat this for the price.

straight out of the box, for simple setup not requiring programing this works great

Had about 8 runs out of it in 2 model boats before it went up in smoke. Upon disassembly it appears there is some of the thermal interface material missing above the MOSFETs that blew, but given the price I can forgive that!
Overall great value, but be prepared to replace it if it eventually dies.

Bought as a cheapo alternative as the Mantis were out of stock. Received a plain black ESC.
Saw the recent comments regarding 'instant magic smoke', so I removed the heatshrink and took a closer look: about half the MOSFETs are out of contact with the (slightly warped) heatsink.
I strongly suggest removing the heatshrink at a minimum to improve cooling, or removing the heatsink, removing/polishing the old silicon gunk off, and re-attaching with new silicon paste.
Haven't tested it yet, and won't do until I have reseated the heatsink, therefore medium marks

hi, i got this esc, but im unable to set it up.
im using turnegy 9x with er9x firmwire but i can't just get it working at all. all i get is a working receiver and servos but no beeps and no spinning of motor.
not sure if this esc is best for beginners like me.

Very happy with this ESC. I also have the 40A equivalent. This one can handle 40A though so better stick with this one. The 40A has a smaller margin (got hot at 50A).

Bought this one because I couldn't get a Hobby wing 25 amp. to work with a giro or a kk board on a tricopter. This cheapo one works ok. As do my other 2 speed controller which are 30 amp which cost £6.00 each. Many moons ago, from Giant cod.
Ordered on Sunday, received Tuesday morning, ordinary post. GREAT SERVICE.... pity faulty goods can't be returned.

First model I tried this in lost control after 10 mins and crashed. Put the esc into another model (different rx, same tx but I have flown several models with this tx and no probs), again lost control after 5 mins and crashed. Won't trust this a third time.

I Bought one of these for a friend, and although he has not used it yet, it certainly seems to be very good value for money. It arrived the day after it was ordered. Great service Rob.

Good plug and play speed controller. The only down side is from closed throttle to full if done quickly the motor revs then stop. But if done gradually works really well really so for the price its costs it not bad.

I am using 2 of these in two different foamies and they both work perfectly.
No need to spend loads of money when these work so well.

Excellent plug and play speed controller. I am using two in a twin with proportional throttle control via a V tail mixer and they respond perfectly. Well matched with equal responses. Can't beat them at the price.

I have bought 3 of these and all have worked very well with different motors from a BW1300 8A to TP2410 1000kv 12A. It gets warm but just keeps on giving. Will only buy these in future, excellent value for money.

From Nigel Tucker
Purchased two for a new twin Douglas Invader, but had to use one when an old ESC gave problems on another model. Just plugged it in and it works superbly on the bench. Very good value, and I expect it to work as well in the air. Recommended.

Basic "plug & play" speed controller. Very limited programming options (choose cell type and enable/disable brake). No instructions supplied - see the SP Speed Controller Manual in the "Product Documentation" section of the forums for programming instructions.
